Finance is everywhere in business. Even if you do not realise it, most activities and outcomes in a business are measured in financial terms. Understanding how decisions are made, how resources are allocated, how your performance is measured, and the financial consequences of your actions will improve your success as a manager.

In your personal capacity and as a consumer, you will make financial decisions when you compare prices of products, when you buy on credit, while banking, when purchasing insurance and when investing in real estate. Studying finance helps make you a smarter consumer and investor.

Summary

This Financial Management Online Short Course will introduce to the world of finance and the concept of financial statements. You will be equipped with skills and knowledge to:

The course has been designed and curated by Brandon Louw.

Brandon is a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with a passion for education and training. He is an exceptional facilitator, trainer and lecturer, praised for his ability to make learning both engaging and effective.

Brandon obtained a BCom in Accounting and a Postgraduate Diploma in Management from the University of Cape Town. Brandon has a wide array of experience in finance. During his postgraduate studies, he was a partner in a successful start-up business, overseeing the financial management of the business. He has further worked in the payroll software industry and has managed the accounting function for a multi million Rand money remittance company. Brandon currently lectures financial management and accounting at Prestige Academy and has previous experience lecturing finance and accounting for Cape Peninsula University of Technology, Vega and Centurion Academy.
